Scores for Best Ball Scramble at Westwood

Good Afternoon,

 

Congratulations to the Best Ball Scramble winning team of Butch Brees, Tom Rayser, and Tom Rocereto with a score of a minus 3. For the rest of us it was a fun outing.

No matter how hard I try to even out the HCPs, each year there is a large gap between the first place players and those who come in last. Last year I was in a group that posted a +7 and the first place group had a minus 1.

That was an 8 point spread, this year it is a 9 point spread. If anyone as a different formula to make it more even please let me know. 

To those who would like to know how I put the team together, this is how I do it. I take all the handicaps of the players signed up to participate and put them on a spread sheet. Then working in groups of four and three Numbers I sort and shift them until I even out the HCPs between teams. Then I go back to the names and place them next to the handicap that matches that person that is on the list. What changes this process is when I am all done and at the last minutes someone cancels. I know there are good reasons to cancel and I understand, and I am not complaining, I am just letting you know how the process works.

Several people stated that they enjoy the best ball scrambles and would like to have a couple more a year.

Hopefully the virus will be gone next year and we can fit the scrambles in.
